
Inside a Disneyland parking garage, multiple cars were mysteriously lighten up on Monday night, sending giant plumes of smoke billowing in all directions and sparking a wave of evacuations.
One user tweeted on Titter “Came to Disney land and its LIT”, with a video footage of the blaze.
According to local news at least 7 employees of Disney were treated by medics for smoke inhalation after the fires were first reported at 4:40 p.m.
Officials of Anaheim Police Department said that an estimated 98 cards caught fire mysteriously inside the popular Mickey and Friends parking structure. The multi-storey garage is located at the northwest corner of the park.
Officials said that at around 5:35 p.m., firefighters managed to extinguish the flames.
Video footages captured at the scene showed thick dark smoke billowing from the garage and into the early afternoon sky.
Reports said the parking lot was promptly evacuated and countless guests were directed to alternate parking area.
A Park-goer said as soon as they saw the fire, everyone turned around because they were asked to leave. They did not notice the fire at first, but as soon as they were told what it was, everyone could smell it and left. It was a little scary for kids, he said.
While it was not immediately certain how the fire started. Officials said that an investigation was underway on what could have lit the fire,
“I just came to Disney for a fun time…and the parking structure catches on fire while I’m parking,” tweeted Tiffany Anne.
Michael Skaggs said, “Disney’s parking garage caught on fire, that’s well he guessed. The money Disney make’s from raising their prices will go towards fixing the garage”, he said.
