Indian-American Doctor Appointed President of AAPI-QLI

Indian-American doctor, Jagdish Gupta has been appointed as a president of American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin of Queens and Long Island (AAPI-QLI).

Gupta has been well-known Gastoenterologist with about forty years of experience. Gupta and his new executive committee assumed charge ten salient physicians have also been inducted as Members of Large of the Governing Body including   

The other members of executive committee apart from Gupta include, Dr Himanshu Pandya, president-elect; Dr Raj Bhayani, vice president; Dr Abhay Malhotra, secretary and Dr Vinod Jayam.

Announcing new programs for the members in 2018, Dr Gupta said, "We want to continue to be the most vibrant, transformative and politically active Chapter among all AAPI chapters in the nation."

In a subsequent meeting, Ajay K. Lodha was appointed as the chairman of the Board of Trustees said, "Indian American Physicians service every 7th patient in the nation and contribute immensely to the health care industry in the nation."

The AAPI represents the interests all Indian origin physicians in the area including rendering Continuous Medical Education and engaging in charitable activities. It currently represents 660 active physicians and donates for charitable purposes more than $60,000 annually.  

It further pledged to donate funds to numerous community organizations including Governor Cuomo Puerto Rico Relief and Rebuilding Fund to alleviate devastation caused by Hurricane Maria and International Nutrition Network (INN) which serves free meals and run 10 soup kitchens across Long Island in 14 locations.
