
The Republican front-runner Donald Trump swept the East Coast primaries. Trump wins in all five Northeast states, while his Democratic counterpart Hillary Clinton won in Delaware, Maryland and Pennsylvania.
After marking victories in Connecticut, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Rhode Island, real estate tycoon, Trump, said that, the Republican nomination contest: ``it's over. As far as I'm concerned it's over.''
Clinton was facing a tough challenge from her Democratic rival Bernie Sanders in Connecticut. In the primary elections, Hillary Clinton had won 1428 delegates while, Sanders won 1153 delegates.
Donald Trump roared to victory and said that, ``I consider myself the presumptive nominee.''
“If you are a Democrat, an independent or a thoughtful Republican, you know that their approach is not going to build an America where we increase opportunity or decrease inequality,'' Clinton said of the GOP candidates.
